I have an ALPS breakdown policy as a staff benefit, I broker down on the M62 during rush hour on my was to a family party. I called the breakdown line and they had someone with me in less than an hour, the chap who came was great, really helpful and could not have been more polite. He had my car fixed at the roadside and had me on my way in 15 minutes. Great service i would highly recommend.
Apauling experience. Broke down just off M26 at 16.30 on Monday afternoon didn't move for six hours, finally picked up only to be dropped off at Dartford services(wrong direction for home) for 2 hours and then relayed to Fleet services where we sat for another 4 hours before finally getting a lorry to take us to Cornwall. Got home 13.40 Tuesday afternoon,no sleep, very little food and very dissatisfied with lack of communication from you. We would have paid for a hotel for the night if we had been given the option rather than sit on side of a road in the middle of nowhere!
ALPs quoted us then withdrew the quote since they made a mistake, which they owned up to, only after they sent through documents. When we complained and asked for compensation they refused, after ignoring an email, even though a read receipt was returned, MD was "in a meeting". It was a very poor experience and their follow was worse. They bang on about staff training but in truth there is little. Buyer beware...very aware. If I could leave zero stars I would. This cost us a lot of effort and money.
I broke down last friday on the M62 and called the breakdown line, expecting to have to wait for hours to be recovered due to traffic and it being a friday. Recovery truck arrived within 1 hour of my call and took me all the way home!! Very happy customer - Terry
